My pet monster

It was a snowy, bitter morning, and everybody was shivering except for me. I was eager for a great, exciting day. Suddenly, a sound in my perky ears alarmed me. "What?!" my brain exclaimed. There was a "lalalala" sound followed by the shaking of pom-poms. I followed the mysterious sound.
"Go, gggg mmmm, try, gggg mmmm, my, gggg mmmm, CAKE, GGGG MMMM!"
Mm, a cake! It must be yummy! I thought as I followed the noise. I bounced over, screamed, and my eyes almost popped out to space. I saw a MONSTER!
"Uhh-uhh-uhh-who-are-umm-yoo-oo-UUU?!" Uhh, I'm, uhh, colorful, pp, Cameline!"
Wow, it's so colorful, I thought. I leaned in to touch him. Oh no! His lavender arms reached out to me, and I was so disgusted by his puffy, slimy texture! I bounced up and down until he let go. A thought came to me. How should I take it home? Would my parents agree to let me keep my new pet? How would he fit in the house? More questions came to me. I sighed. Finally, I got courageous and asked my parents.

"Where's the monster? Are you joking?" they asked. And so I showed my parents the monster. My mom gasped. She almost fainted! However, my dad thought Cameline was cool, so I got to keep him. My mom sighed and grumbled, "Fine!" Luckily, our house was enormous, and I had spotted a slate blue truck taller than C.C. (I call my monster that now), so I could get him home. The driver let me borrow it for a bite of my pet's crunchy, colorful cake.

Once we got home, I observed my pet with my magnifying glass. It sure was coloful. It had tons of glowing translucent clips in its hair while its fuchsia pompoms shine in the light. Its dress is so bright , and it looks just like gigantic angular rainbow pencils. Its turquoise hair flashed before my eyes. It had an enormous body like an elephant, and it's wearing about 80 metallic necklaces that dangle from its neck to its waist. Its hair was so yarn-like with electric blue wig-like bangs and desert yellow braids as long as the average fifth grader's height. It was as if a famous artist braided a 1,000,000 meters long project. Its hair is as long as Rapunzel's hair. It has a huge, attractive designer bag that dances and spins around when C.C. eats his favorite greasy cake. His bag says, "Pink is the new black." The word "Pink" was colored in hot pink and "black" the color of dim gray. He had no face! But it had funky, eye-bulging glasses and a fake, plastic mustache. It had an always surprised mouth that was brick red. A golden tiara plasters around its quaint cyan hair. Whenever C.C. moves, it waddles awkwardly. The top of C.C. is smaller than the enormous dress.

Now for the hard part: touching Cameline. I sighed as I secured my hands slowly to C.C.'s slimy textured skin. I was flustered! I touched its hair. The hair was as yarny as 1,000 rows of yarn stuck together with super glue. Its skin is a craggy rock by the sea. Its dress is a lenticular puzzle so it feels like rows and rows of plastic lines. Its tiara was surprisingly prickly while at the same time elastic. Everything felt...weird on Colorful Cameline. Even its designer bag strap felt really sharp and uneven. I carefully touched my hands onto the short portions of its wig. The wig was as soft as clean deer skin. The cake in his hand felt as gritty as the scrunchiest clothes. The star on the cake top felt really smooth and cool, however. The necklaces felt really bumpy but sleek, like ten rocks rushed down a smoothing river and covered with lotion.

Well, there was not really an taste in C.C. except in its cake. I ate a little. It was disgustingly scrumptious! It was disgusting because it was so greasy and too crunchy. But it was delicious because the cereal bits tasted like sugar cookies which I really like.  Plus, there were some red cereal bits that tasted like all kinds of berry cookies! I dipped my finger into every par of the frosting and put it into my mouth. It tasted really creamy and honeyed. As soon as I ate more, I thought it was very gooey and oily. The chocolates were heaven! Every time I ate one, I thought it must be the highest quality chocolates in the world! They were perfectly milky and sweet! It has so much taste and was savory. The sprinkles on the star were really tangy. The cookie part looked delicious and was quite tempting. The jelly beans were twenty times bigger than normal jelly beans! There were even some fresh, yummy fruits! Who even knew a monster could bake such a savory cake?!

Time to get my perky ears out for an adventure. I suddenly heard some very strange noises. I heard some crunching while C.C. was eating its newly baked cake. As it munched, it was singing its favorite tune "Monster Mash" and shaking its pompoms as loud as a roaring high tide being blown by the wind. Cameline shook its dress, and it made a cranking noise from the pencils on the dress. Its necklaces were pigpens with shaking chickens and pigs. "Thiiissuhhssss *uhsiii* issseh *uh* sooooooo *sigh* foofun!" It was mumbling and growling right after each word, I noticed. "Uh... Have *sigh* a cakeeee!" I listened very quietly as it crackled its big eyeballs. Its designer bag dangled and even made a faint scratching noise. C.C. sure made lots of interesting sounds!

Then I came close to C.C. to investigate its interesting smells. I sniffed , and I could smell its cake. I smelled sweet bread bakeries from around the whole world with the richest bread pastries ever! I tiptoed and looked up at his tiara. I sniffed once again. I smelt something like smoky sausages and something like an ink pen. I also smelt something as familiar as my family! It was a Pink Pearl eraser! I smelt its ropey hair. It even smelt like some of the burnt popcorn I ate. I thought every part of C.C. smelled like something. C.C. was the perfect explorer toy for adventurous sniffers.

As you can see, C.C. is the best companion/pet any person could have! It is the most colorful, fun, interesting, eye-bulging pet that you could ever want. C.C. is the best because it is a wonderful monster that is very colorful and fun to observe and study. Its parts can be easily examined by the five sense. I showed off Cameline to my friends, and they were all jealous. I bet you all want a pet like Cameline, too!

Well I'm thankful for my parents,my family,me, all my friends (for making me have more fun and company),teachers(for being so helpful),Earth(for helping me be alive),and MANY more! Some helpful plans are:Write a thankful list so it could both impress your relatives and feel happy while at the same time make decisions improvement. You can also have quiet time and think, really think about the things you are thankful for.You can make a list of "thankful for" or type it on a blog.(That's what I'm doing!)

So you know how Thanksgiving goes? Now you can pat yourself on the back or think,"Next time I'm gonna do better on thanksgiving since I've seen this blog.''You could also post this answer in the comments; What are YOU thankful for? What are YOU gonna do/improve in Thanksgiving? If you post all three answers,I'm gonna tell you mine.

Lindy and the Forest Giant(3rd grade)

Lindy and the Forest Giant

                                                   A Retell by Maya Zhan

The Forest Giant was a terrifying giant who threatened all of the people. Lindy as one of the people in the valley and she was a clever and tricky little girl. She decided to make him go away. She knew she had to frighten the giant into thinking that she was smarter and stronger than he was. Lindy said: “ Whoever will be able to bang a hole in the tree with only one’s head  is the stronger of the two of us. “ “ I’ll go first.” The giant said. He ran toward the tree with his head down. He hit the tree so hard that he knocked himself out! While the giant was unconscious, Lindy poked a hole in the tree with an ax and stuck her head in. The giant watched with envy. “ You should spend the night with me.” He said. So while the giant was sleeping, Lindy got a log and covered it with a blanket as if it was her. The monster axed the blanket thinking it was Lindy to kill her, then went back to sleep. Lindy threw the log out of the cave. The monster woke up and stuttered, “D-d-id y-you, s-s-s-sleep w-w-well?” “Yes!” Lindy answered. “Except for that tiny mosquito that bit me last night.” The monster was now afraid of her because he couldn't kill her, and owed Lindy money because she put a hole in the tree.  So the monster handed her some silver coins. The monster was completely afraid of Lindy’s terrible strength, so he moved away from the valley. The people in the valley lived happily ever after.

Fourth Grade VS. Third Grade

"This year was so fun!Next year there's gonna be way more to come!!!"I said in third grade. And that sure was true. There were so much good times in both grades, but I think fourth grade was a weeny bit better. You'll find out later in this blog.

In third grade I absolutely loved my teacher Ms.Modiri.I  learned a lot from her and she taught me not only academics, but also some commit for the environment. She also was very fair, fun, and fabulous!I learned so many things from her and had so much good times.Third grade was a total blast especially with my teacher Ms.Modiri!Plus I went to  MPM afterschool and didn't get to have a well working environment.

In fourth grade,I feel so much organized and stronger.I started to be more prepared for any tests and started writing neater.I seem to be nicer and"bigger".Now you think that sounds good! That is exactly why I feel that fourth grade seems a little more special.I also like Ms.Lang.She teaches everything perfectly and now I both reviewed and learned some new concepts.I also made some more new friends this year than last year,OR that I got to know my friends better this year .Now I go to Little Genius afterschool with a little better working environment than MPM.

Now can you see?In fourth grade everything seems a little "up a step" than before. Now I'm ready for an even better fourth grade since I recorded my thoughts right on this blog!!!!

Learning the Cup Song

The Cup Song is my hobby and is becoming a habit! Now how did I learn it?I learned it from Olive and Michelle!!Well, they kinda only introduced it to me because I learned most of it from YouTube.Michelle had cups in her hand.I asked,"Why do you have those cups?" She replied,"I'm gonna do the cup song!"Olive started grabbing a cup and did the cup song .I wondered how she did it!"You wanna know how I did it?This is the first part. She did it so fast that I couldn't understand what she was doing. Then she did it as slow as a turtle.I grabbed my drinking cup and did it at the same time as Michelle and Olive. After less than five tries,I completely nailed the first part! Now that second part was very difficult(at that time).watched her do the second part about three times.I tried to do it once, but it was WAYYY harder than the first part.

Watch these if you'd like!!!

I even watched a cup song video!Luckily,Michelle slowed it down for me.I copied her by each step.I tried doing it myself, but I wasn't even close to suceeding!

After a few minutes,I needed to do some math! I wasn't done with the cup song just yet!I could learn it with my mom at home.Back at home,I searched "Cup Song Tutorial"and saw the video. After twenty minutes,I almost nailed it!Just a few more steps until I can post a cups video on YouTube!!

And that's what I did. I posted some videos of the cups, and I introduced the cup song to many of my friends and the whole room seven.I love the cup song now and BTW I am doing it for the Mini Concert!!!

Negativity and positivity:When is it good? When is it bad?

You think,"How can negativity be good?Being negative is always bad." Well, that's not true.Totally.

Pretend a piano recital is today, and you're on the car.You think negative and say,"I wish I had practiced more.I‘m not ready."Well, why didn"t you practice more?!That's thinking negative at the wrong time. You should think positive at that time.If you say,“I can do it!I'll have good luck!!"at the whole trip to the recital, that's a thumbs-up for you.Well, your mom might get kinda annoyed. She also might get annoyed if you think too negative(like me).

Pretend a piano recital is in four days. You think negative and say,"Nope.I need to practice more for the recital.I'm totally gonna practice more. It's bad luck for me at the recital if  I don't practice." So you practice five more times. Now you think positive."Yep,since I practiced so much,I nailed it for the recital! But hmm, maybe I should practice more for the recital.I might forget tomorrow."Big thumbs up for you!!Now THAT'S thinking negative at the right time.Well, with a little positive to support.

Now do you get the idea?If you do,that's great! If you don't,keep on looking at this blog.If you think negative at the right time, that's usually BEFORE the event that's happening. If you are on the car and you think negative, that is a thumbs down.If you think TOO positive when the event is in a week, bad luck might be coming your way.Right away you get a foreshadow that if you think too positive, you will get bad luck.(Check out my blog about luck!)

Now,now I think everybody knows about this interesting topic now.Maybe you should think negative and positive at the right time since you checked out this blog!

Playin' in the Wonderful Walk-a-Thon

Well,do you know what the Walk-a-Thon is?It's a SUPER fun event. It falls on October 18th(in Meyerholz, and that's my b-day!). I never had any dull moments in the because there are SOO many fun events and attractions. Some of the events are:lap running, pizza party, splashing teachers, craft, bake sale, jamba juice, book sale, raffle, street smarts, food, games, and more!

I had a wonderful experience at the Walk-a-Thon especially with Emily,Bada, and Arianna.I had a delicious time consuming those tasty cotton candies. They just melted right as I put a mouthful in my mouth!I saw something really cool at the raffle. My eyes literally popped as I stared at the gigantic, cute, stuffed animal tofu ,three Hilltop gift certificates,an alpha gel, scented putty erasers, and that adorable hamster stuffed animal!I immediately stuffed 5 tickets in that slot of tickets.
The laps were also really fun, even though we mostly walked.Emily and I walked about three miles in all!Even though my shoes ended up very sandy.

I had the best time of laps ever!

Little Genius vs.Brighter Future vs.MPM

I think that Little Genius is better than Brighter Future and MPM.

For one,Little Genius is more fun than Brighter Future because of Journalist Club and all those other fun classes and clubs. You also learn a lot in the regular classes, too.I improved in math,English, writing, public speaking,Chinese, playing with new friends I made, and even making new friends.I always come to Little Genius in a good mood.

At Brighter Future, some of the classes are boring ,but the special classes. . .well sometimes they are fun, most of the times they are okay.I don't really like the reading program or the English program. They teach us a lot of stuff, but they are sometimes boring.I love their lunches, though!!Brighter Future is worse than Little Genius because, all in all,it's still a little boring. The teachers can be mean or nice.

At MPM, it's not that well prepared or planned. However, the teachers are nice. The camps are fun,and the lunches are freshly prepared for us to eat.The place is messy though. The floor is a bit dirty.Their math class is okay, not as good as Little Genius.

In conclusion,I think Little Genius is the best afterschool I've been to.Organized, fun, nice, and clean I think this afterschool is the best for me!!!^_^(rhymes)

Life in Genius Academy

Genius Academy, honestly,is not really that bad.

None of the classes are bad or really boring.I have a few people to keep me company:Emily,Brook,Charlotte,Joyce,Helen, and Tiffany. The first day,I was really confused about what "site"I was supposed to go for my class. I had to ask the teachers what "site"I was supposed to go to and plus,I had to show most of the teachers my name tag, hanging around my neck.It was a teensy bit rough. However now,I am not even a bit confused about my"sites" or my classes.I am now always ready to go to afterschool and always prepared.Sometimes I think that I'm not doing too much homework at homework time. So I start focusing, and that's how I make a very successful period.

Emily starts to play and keep me having a fun time while disturbing me a bit-well that's OK.At least she helps me have fun and have someone to play with.I also think that Genius Academy's teachers are nice. All the teachers respect the kids well.If I had news for going to Genius Academy for all English,I wouldn't really care.

Dilemma of Maya

I'm so excited to join the mini-concert! I've planned my song: the cup song, and again, I am so excited.

But there is just one thing that I'm worried about. My mom, Ryan's mom, Chanelle's mom and Justin's mom don't want me and Chanelle to be partners with April. They say that Justin, Ryan and Chanelle and I play and party a lot, so we have to be a group. They say if I am partners with Chanelle and April, Justin and Ryan, Chanelle and I will have no more Saturday parties. If we are together as a group, we can still have parties. I just couldn't make a choice.

Half of my brain was like, "Yeah, April's your best friend! Be with her! You don't need that many parties!" And the other half was like, "No! You need parties! You had so much fun! You don't really play with April that much!"

The halves of my brain both made sense. Sometimes I am not in the mood for parties. But sometimes I needed some fun. It was true that April was my friend. It was also true that I didn't really play with her that much. I did have a lot of fun in parties. However, when I'm grumpy, I don't need any parties. So, which part of my brain should  I listen to?

Well, now, I think I could jump to conclusion for a little bit. I want to go with Justin and Ryan and Chanelle for a little bit. But I don't want April to have nobody to sing with.

Actually, I'll just follow Chanelle's opinion. I guess opinions do really count.

How about Blogging?

Blogging is a fun way to write your thoughts and feelings all while having a time to improve your typing skills..Lately I have blogged whatever thought comes to me.Even if I have a very weird thought such as a  funny boy,I record it on my blog. One day my mom says,"It's time to go to sleep!"However,I go,"Can I do another blog?"My mom sighs and says,"Fine, fine.Only for just five minutes."Yes,that's how I did this blog.Whenever I start a blog,I just sit around, thinking of what to write.I sit up starting to "type my mind."I never stop typing unless I need to refresh my mind for a little while.
I always think about blogging over the weekends.I only have one question in my head:'How about blogging?'

Luck is all around You

Well,in my opinion, there is no such thing as luck.It just happens! There are some superstitions of bad luck and good luck.Sometimes when you knock on wood three times when you say something good,it most likely will come true. When you see a wishbone, share it with your friends.Let your friend hold one side and you will hold another. You and your friend will make a wish at the same time and will break the bone.Whoever has a bigger piece will have a better chance of having their wish granted.Friday the thirteenth you can't control. It is always a bad luck day.

Remember, these are superstitions.Sometimes they are true sometimes they are not.Again, luck does not really exsist!Remember that you will always get lucky (knock knock knock)!!!!!!!!

Have you ever...

Have you ever got stung by a bee or have you got a bug bite?I haven't.I think that's unusual. Most people have bug bites or bee stings. So does that mean that I have special skin?Does that mean that I will never ever ever get a bug bite in,like,my whole life?I often encounter bees however I always freeze when I get close to them.
Have you ever made a big mistake on a big performance or recital?I have on my third recital. While I was playing the first note,I didn't really focus and I did the note one octave lower. I just couldn't let the audience hear that mistake. That BIG mistake. So I just pretended that nothing happened and I kept playing.I quickly brought my hands to the correct major and I played the rest without any mistakes at all.(Very pathetic recital).
Have you ever that, have you ever this, have you ever made a blog? I did.I AM writing a blog! This is my first time.I think you should do it too.
